A bluetooth dongle is a little device that will convert a non bluetooth PC into a bluetooth enabled device in a matter of minutes. A bluetooth dongle will allow the PC to communicate with other bluetooth devices such as bluetooth printers, networks, and other item. But a lot of consumers aren't sure how to use a bluetooth dongle.
Using a Bluetooth Dongle
Many people wonder how to use a bluetooth dongle that they have just purchased. There are certain steps which you must follow to get it working for you correctly. The very first step in this process is putting in the installation CD which came with the bluetooth dongle into your computer. Once you have done that, a screen will appear prompting you to continue. You will need to go through the whole process of setting it up on your computer, which will only take a matter of minutes. The installation process is rather straightforward, so you shouldn’t have any problems at all. The second step you will want to take is to activate the Bluetooth within your own mobile phone.
You have most likely received separate instructions on how to do that with the bluetooth dongle itself. Although it is different for every phone, usually it is under the “settings” which can be located on the main menu. Some phones have a separate setting for blue tooth devices, however yours may not. After you have activated it in your phone, you will need to plug it into a USB port. Once you have installed the software for it, a screen should load for the program. This application will detect that your phone has been connected and register it as a device on your computer.
After it has done that, you will want to right click the icon representing your phone on the computer and press “refresh services”. You will need to wait until all of the icons activate. They will turn yellow when they have officially become active. After it has been activated fully you will need to double click the “Bluetooth file transfer service” option. You will receive a message on your phone asking whether or not you want to accept the connection request from your computer, and you will want to accept.
A brand new window will then appear called “Remote share folder”, which is where you will be able to transfer all of the data from the device to your computer. Once you paste the file you want in the share folder, it will begin sending it to your mobile phone. It is a fairly quick process which does not take long, so you will not have to worry about waiting a long time. If you have followed all the above instructions, then you will no longer have to worry about learning how to use a Bluetooth Dongle.
